Description

The Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools (WS/FCS) are requesting bids for performing annual inspections on portable fire extinguishers located in our facilities. This contract will run for one {1) year from date of award and can be extended for a total of three {3) years at the owner's discretion, and with no greater than three percent (3%) annual increase in contract amount. Allowances can be made each year for additional facilities, as the WS/FCS is continually adding and replacing facilities. Additional facilities may also be added during the contract term as new facilities are constructed. The additional extinguishers shall be added on a per unit basis, and all fees associated with the new extinguishers will be based on the per unit cost provided in the contract. Any additional facilities will not be considered as change orders and shall not be billed with any additional change order fees.
Currently, the system consists of approx. 84 facilities with fire extinguishers and a fleet of approximately 100 maintenance vehicles, which total approximately 4200 devices. The base bid work will require one {1) annual inspection/service commencing January 15th of each year and concluding by April 30th of the same year.
