Description

The City of Charlotte’s General Services Department operates more than 100 locations equipped with Global Plasma Solutions, Inc. (GPS) equipment for the purpose of bipolar ionization. The GPS system uses bipolar ionization technology to remove indoor air pollutants, including up to 99 percent of airborne viruses, mold, and bacteria. These systems provide clean indoor air to help promote the health of both city employees and the visiting public.
The city requires a qualified service provider to maintain existing bipolar ionization systems, with an annual preventative maintenance plan for each location. The selected vendor must be able to service the existing units, to provide reports on the specific condition of the systems with recommendations for repairs or replacements, and to complete the repairs, as needed.
The service provider must also be able to design and install a complete bipolar ionization system if the current system is beyond repair, if needed repairs are not cost effective, or for any future construction of new locations.

Any selected Service Provider must have the following qualifications:
• A valid North Carolina HVAC License
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience providing the services required in this Scope of Work
• Must be a certified vendor for GPS products (documented on GPS Letterhead), and
• All employees performing work on any City of Charlotte property must be able to pass a background check as required by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
