Description

Designated Area: This RFP is for redesigning the Causey Hall Building HVAC system on the Sandhills Community College (SCC) Campus in Pinehurst, NC. The College Facilities Master Plan (FMP), completed in February 2021 by Wright Architecture PA., identifies the need for extensive renovation and replacement of the mechanical systems in Causey Hall which was originally designed in 1983.
The facility is currently utilized as an educational building housing the Cosmetology department, Biology, Aviation classrooms and SCC Foundation Offices. The current HVAC layout incorporates air from the Beauty and Nail Salon, recirculating into other classrooms and offices within the building. The current Building Code requires a much greater amount of outside ventilation, particular attention to Indoor air quality standards, and a source capture system for the manicure and pedicure stations. The current HVAC system is under Alerton DDC control by Hoffman Building Technologies.
