Description

Objective: 
	Replace the aeration piping within the wasting basin at the Waste Water Treatment Facility in Havelock, NC. 
Scope:
	The Wasting Basin at the Waste Water Treatment Plant in Havelock, NC. is a 14’ deep / 16’ wide / 60’ long concrete basin. This basin utilizes diffused bubble aeration with 6” stainless steel aeration pipe to stir the sediments within bottom of the basin. Currently the aeration piping has broken at a flange joint and dislodged from the cradles and is now broken. The submersible aeration piping is stainless steel piping but is tied to carbon steel on the top of the basin. The piping to be replaced is all of the stainless-steel aeration pipe from the area where the stainless steel adjoins to the carbon steel. See figure 5. All Course Bubble Diffusers are to be replaced as well.
	The aeration piping within the Wasting Basin is a total of 70 lineal feet and sits approximately 2’ off the floor of the Wasting Basin. The vertical section is approximately 11’, there are two portions of horizontal piping one approximately 7’ and the other approximately 52’. There are two 90-degree LR elbows, one connecting the vertical piping to the horizontal piping and the other connecting the 7’ pipe to the 52’ pipe section. See figure 2. The end of the 52’ section will be sealed with a weldable cap.
	A site visit is highly encouraged but not mandatory. The contractor will be responsible for following all OSHA confined space procedures. The contractor will be responsible for supplying all confined space equipment. All measurements are approximate, contractor to verify. The City of Havelock shall not be held responsible for omissions or errors in description.  The contractor shall be responsible for furnishing all materials, supplies, labor, and equipment necessary for the completion of this project.
